Scottydawg founded ESE Rocks in May 2004. He would attend local band concerts in New Castle, sometimes photographing the shows for various websites that he created for local bands. After several years, he began booking shows for bands and working with promoters. His first big jump in the water came with managing Mindlatch. In 2005, shows were numbering around eight a month. During this time, he would interview national bands for various magazines in the U.S. and Canada. After the split up of Mindlatch, interviewing national bands became more than just a hobby. Trying to keep his focus on ESE, there were too many setbacks.
In 2010, Scottydawg finally decided it was time to breathe life back into East Side Entertainment. After 60+ national interviews in four years, the confidence was there. But he wanted to go back to his roots; the local band scene. He didn’t want to forget where he came from. He wanted to give back to those that provided him the tools and knowledge to take that step further. Enter ESE Rocks 2011 !
